High quality of design and workmanship; we opted for top of the range room and enjoyed good view of harbour; staff were generally very friendly and always helpful; restaurant well run and food good.

Non-smoking facility (but allowed in the open-air bar area in front of the pool). Simple and elegant design, modern convenience. Reasonably priced at a convenient location (bus #6 is only 20 meters away). Quiet, facing a bay. Good quality of breakfast buffet. Enough bathroom countertop area. Great shower. Has own onsite parking for guests...

Very nice hotel in a good location
Hotel Lapad is a modern, quite elegant hotel, recently updated, in a very good location in Dubrovnik. About 40 minutes walk in super scenery to the Old Town. Close to the hotel are small, very good restaurants and a picturesque harbour...The staff are friendly and helpful.
All in all, my obvious choise if in Dubrovnik and wanting a hotel room.

Perfect in every way
The hotel is in a great location - on the Lapad peninsula and just a bus ride away from the Old Town
The hotel was very clean and had obviously been updated recently.Excellent Buffet breakfast and evening meal - never 2 days the same.Pool area very quiet and perfect for unwinding. Overall an excellent hotel.

Excellent quality and value
This proved to be an excellent hotel. The double room, was extremely modern, clean and comfortable. The hotel was first class. My wife and I stayed on a half board option and were very pleased with the quality of food. The dinner buffet provided an excellent range of good food and the drinks were reasonably priced. The staff were always pleasant and helpful and they contributed to us leaving with a positive impression of the Hotel Lapad.

Superb hotel, highly recommend it
My husband and I have been visiting Dubrovnik minimum once a year for the past ten years. This was our first stay in this hotel and I must say this was the best treat ever! Rooms, though small, are nicely decorated so you dont feel cramped. Internet connection works everywhere which is rarely true in the rest of hotels in Dubrovnik...
The Lapad Hotel cuisine is superb without mixed, non-definable, all-the-same taste that you usually see with open meals. We stayed for seven days at the beginning of May and for the entire stay we have never had the same menu, even the number of guests was quite small at some point. Special mentioning deserve hotel staff, whose kind and unimposing, yet efficient approach makes your stay welcome and pleasant. Finally, big thank you note goes to Mr. Big Vladimir whose charm made our evenings enjoyable and memorable. We made new friends in this hotel and we are definitely coming back.

Good location, no real faults
We visited Dubrovnik in May 2009 for one week.... The Hotel Lapad was a very enjoyable experience. The hotel rooms are very modern however quite small and the 'sea view' is not overly spectacular. We opted for half board as the supplement was minimal and we thought we might eat out a few nights as the half board cost was so litte. We found the food quite enjoyable without being a gourmet delight and ended up eating in the hotel every evening...

Perfect place to stay near(ish) to the old town
My wife and I had a really good single night stay here, early June 2009. We were really impressed by the standard of the rooms for the money we paid. Breakfast was OK but the pool, terrace cafe and lovely room more than made up for that,

A lovely refurbished hotel that stands out in comparison
with its neighbours
Hotel Lapad has been beautifully refurbished. The staff were friendly and helpful especially when I tried out a few words in Croatian. The buffet dinners were never short of selection and quality. We would certainly go back.

Excellent Hotel and Staff - Stay here
I recently stayed at the Hotel Lapad with my husband on our honeymoon for 4 nights. I only have terrific things to say about this hotel. The staff are friendly, the hotel is clean, in a sensational area! We booked the 5 star room on expedia.com and were blown away by the sheer size and cleanliness of the place. The room has a great LCD player.
Breakfast was the best we had in Europe (we travelled to 7 countries). There was alot of variety and all food was very fresh. All major sights, including the Old City are only a short shuttle away - the shuttle stop is literally outside the hotel! We walked to the Old City which took us around 20 mins.
Overall, this hotel is worth every cent, stay here and you will not regret it!

If you want a nice hotel with a relaxed atmosphere look no further.
A modern hotel with old fashioned values. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was cleaned to a high standard every day. Buffet restaurant with excellent choice. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Excellent hotel - couldn't fault it in any way.
I chose this hotel because of the majority of reviews on this website and am so glad I did. From the welcome at the reception desk to the staff at breakfast, the service was superb. They were helpful and friendly throughout our stay.
The room was small but this was more than made up for by the dιcor which was super-modern. We especially loved the trendy bathroom. We had the cheapest room which meant the view just looked on to some pleasant gardens. The swimming pool was fabulous and the location of the hotel is marvellous. It's only a bus ride away from the Old Town and the bus stop is about a 7 minute walk. It's far enough from the Old Town to miss all the bustle of the tourists as well so a peaceful place to come back to after a busy day. It looks on to a harbour and on the other side is a supermarket with boats to take you to three of the main islands. Next door is a great little restaurant - try the fish platter!
I really couldn't fault this hotel and will definitely be going back and recommending it to friends and family.

A delightful hotel in a perfect environment
Nothing to disappoint at all! As other reviewers have said, hotel location is a top feature, easily accessible to the old town by bus every 15 minutes or so.
Staff mostly of the 'old school', ie polite, experienced and nothing too much trouble. Buffet breakfast and dinner perfectly adequate and wholesome - nothing exotic though on the menu, ie lobster, prawns or similar. But for a half board arrangement one couldn't fault quality or quantity.Internet is free too, surprising in this day and age!

Everything was magnificent
We stayed at hotel Lapad for 9 nights and we΄re very, very pleased with everything. The service was impeccable.

Excellent hotel
we stayed three nights and had a great time. I would highly recommend the hotel for its friendly service, great location and value for money. We stayed at the balcony seaside room which had a decent port view. Superior rooms are little bigger with a better view but no balcony. Taxis are readily available and will take about 5 min to go to the old town where the main action is. If you like to spend a little extra there are sea taxis for about 80 kunas ( 15dollars )...

Absolutely perfect
Lovely hotel with a historic past and beautifully modern rooms.Staff extremely friendly and professional,Big Vlad provided excellent low key entertainment and if asked ,an interesting history lesson about the hotel and its past.Food was superb, puddings to die for,and no mad rush in the dining room unlike other hotels.Lovely quiet garden for peace in the shade.Nice pool for a dip,and a lovely patio area for drinks and snacks, altogether the perfect ambience for a great holiday in a beautiful country.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, great for relaxing and seeing Dubrovnik
Hotel Lapad was the last stop on our journey round Eastern Europe. What a nice, relaxing way to finish our trip. We we really well looked after, the staff were great, the room just what we were after - air conditioning, twin beds, cleaned daily, laundry service and free internet!! The pool and sunbathing area was nice, sometimes a bit difficult to get a lounger in the afternoon but we often went to the beach or an island.
Didn't use the restaurant for dinner, but the breakfast was a proper buffet with everything you could have wanted for brekka!

Superb hotel!
Stayed for 4 nights in early July before going on to Korcula. The location is good for the ferries across the bay and for Dubrovnik itself. Only 5 minutes on the number 6 bus into Dubrovnik... The hotel was spotless, the service excellant, the staff all being very friendly. The standard room we had was big enough with many modern features. Breakfasts were fantastic with an enormous choice of things to have. There was a nice pool and outside bar and the drinks and snacks prices were reasonable for a 4 star hotel..Superb hotel!

Great Boutique Hotel
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Lapad. We chose it based on the reviews on Trip Advisor, and found it to be exactly what we wanted. The rooms are very modern and beautiful, with just enough space to relax and feel at home. The pool was a nice touch as well- very well maintained and great to jump in after a day of sightseeing.
The staff was also very helpful, although the front desk was busy at times so we had to wait. But the people were very nice. Breakfast service was also very good. A large selection with plenty of choices. We didn't have the chance to eat dinner here, but there was always a large crowd that was in the dining room and cafe. We would have tried the restaurant if we had more time!...
Overall, a great place to stay!

Service, scenery, sunshine and smiles
Having just returned from Croatia I can only praise this lovely hotel. The service was outstanding, all the staff were friendly and keen to help in any way.
Our room was modern, clean and bright. The balcony with side sea view was small but more than met our needs.
Food and drink at the buffet breakfast and dinner was very good. We ate well and enjoyed a variety of dishes from around the world...
We had a super, relaxing holiday that went well beyond our expectations.

Great value and great location
My room was large and had the design elements of a boutique hotel. The location is great: you can walk (about 20 minutes) to the Lapad resorts, rocky beaches, and scenic restaurants and bars. Right in front of the hotel is the harbor where boats leave for day trips to the islands...

Nice hotel - Happy with stay
My wife and i stayed in this hotel recently whilst on our honeymoon. The rooms were new and very clean. Staff were friendly and helped us with our enquiries. The pool was a nice place to hang out after a days sight seeing. The hot/cold complimentary breakfast was also nice. Location wise the hotel was a little bit away from Lapad's main strip but having said that it was only a 10 minute walk to all the cafes restaurants etc. As for the old town, a 10 minute walk along the harbour to the bus stop and a short 10 minute ride and you were there. To be honest, its location was a plus as it got you away from the ridiculous crowds of the old town. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

What a hidden gem of a hotel ! Just back from a wonderful week staying at Hotel Lapad. Far,far better than we expected from the brochure. Rooms and bathrooms all obviously completely refurbed ,very comfortable beds and pillows ( A hotel that actually uses mattress covers and a cover on the mattress cover before the sheet) Flat screen satellite TV . Public areas cannot be criticised. Staff are the most helpfull and friendliest we have come across anywhere in the world. We would highly recommend anyone wanting a stay in Dubrovnik to give this hotel a try. Ps. Very few children which suited the clientele perfectly.

Great Hotel
Immaculate condition, very modern hotel. Loved the room, nice furnishings and modern bathroom, shower was great! Communal areas are really pretty and kept clean. Location is good, right by pretty harbour, can walk to old town in 20-30mins or catch the 6 bus...

We sadly returned home yesterday from our latest trip to Dubrovnik and to our favourite hotel, Lapad, and would like to say how much we enjoyed our stay with you. The hotel is now even better, and the variety, quality and presentation of food in the restaurant is incredible - we brought two guests for dinner on Thursday, who have both worked intensively in catering, and they were really impressed with their meal and thought the Lapad kitchen and waiting staff are doing a great job.
We would like to tell you that the new (to us) young man on Reception, Maro, was really kind and helpful and went to a lot of trouble to find the answer to a couple of queries we had - he was very nice and made every effort to help, and we are sure he will be a big asset to Lapad...
We are already planning our next holiday with you at end of May/early June 2010 and really look forward to seeing you all then.
In the meantime, our very best wishes,
Wendy Shell and Alison Lightman |
Would definitely return
Clean, modern hotel - recently refurbished, as far as I know Nice location - may look a bit far from the old town, but it's just a bus ride apart. Walking distance to Lapad Bay. Close to bus terminal, if you're heading to Cavtat (also walking distance). Delicious breakfast - aubergines, courgettes, peppers, mushrooms, every morning! Good sized pool - with plenty of sun lounges.Helpful staff.

A True Winner !!
We stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of September 2009. The hotel is just lovely ! It is an old limestone building, so looks great from the outside, and it overlooks the harbour - check out all the boats you just CANNOT afford .
Our room was spotless, very comfortable, and just fantastic. The service was great, the breakfasts extremely good, and overall I cannot fault it at all. It is 4* rated I believe, but it should definately be 5*.
The walk into the old city is about 30-45 minutes, so although we walked it once, we took taxis the other times, and always got a taxi back at night.
Top top top place. No complaints at all.

Hi, Just returned from a fantastic holiday in Dubrovnik.
Many thanks to the staff of the hotel Lapad for their excellent service and hospitality. They were not only polite and helpful but also warm and made us feel really welcome. The hotel itself is immaculately clean and very attractive. I appreciated the variety of quality food and would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone.

Good location, lovely hotel
The hotel is situated right on the harbour at Lapad, with a bus stop outside where buses run about every 10 mins into Dubrovnik (about 15 mins). We had a superior sea/pool view room which was lovely - shame there's no balconies in the front. Rooms at the side had balconies, but we preferred the view. Room cleaned daily with fresh towels and toiletries. All the staff were really friendly and helpful, and all spoke English. Breakfast was delicious - full English plus fruit, hams & cheeses, yoghurts etc etc...
Kent, England - Sep 22, 2009. |
All good
Just returned from a long weekend at the Hotel Lapad and don't have any criticisms at all. Unlike some reviewers, we thought the location a plus - away from the main tourist drag but very easy to hop on a bus or get a taxi to the Old Town. Also convenient for the ferry to the islands and nice to be on the waterfront. Room (and hotel generally) spotless, fantastic breakfasts, lovely (if chilly!) pool and very helpful and pleasant staff.

Jenny from Jersey This was my second time at the Hotel Lapad with friends. Needless to say you only go back if it was first class to start with. Staff great very friendly, rooms 5* plus Food excellent many choices for breakfast and dinner. (Pannacotta desert out of his world) Easy access to all sighseeing with good bus servives taxis...

Atmospherical hotel, lovely location
We have just returned from a week at the Hotel Lapad and had a really lovely stay. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk (uphill!) from Lapad which has a small selection of restaurants and bars and souvenir shops. Lapad beach is about a 10 min walk away but we were warned the sea wasnt so clear there so avoided it...
The hotel is absolutely spotless and the rooms are very modern. So modern in fact that we couldnt actually figure out how to use the lighting panel properly for ages! They are small but adequate, maid service was regular every day. Balconies are small but at a push we managed to fit 2 chairs on them! The reception staff were really helpful, we asked so many questions I'm sure they must have got fed up.
Breakfast was good, small pastries, cooked breakfast, fruit, cereals, yoghurt, ham and cheeses. More than enough to keep you going for a few hours...
We enjoyed the outside terrace of the bar, overlooking the beautifully lit pool at night it made for a lovely atmosphe.

Perfect 5 day break
Dubrovnik is stunning by day and night. Stayed Hotel Lapad, right next to harbour, quiet but within walking distance of old town and lovely walks around the harbour and peninsular. 28 degrees and clear blue skies. Sun, sea and culture - perfect. Hotel very clean and food very good.
